Some of the ways the Foundation supports Fort Nisqually Living History Museum . . .
Artifacts
The Fort Nisqually Foundation provided funding for the professional restoration of the Fort's historic 19th century buggy. This mode of transportation would have been typical of what Dr. William Fraser Tolmie would have used in the 19th century around Fort Nisqually.
Building Preservation
The Foundation provided
funding for the restoration of the 1850 Granary building in 2014.
The restoration of
the 1855 Factor's House won national and state awards for preservation excellence in 2004.
Events
For the past twenty years the Foundation has provided financial support to the Candlelight Tour, Brigade Encampment, Christmas Regale and all the Living History Special Event Days throughout the year.
Research
The Foundation was instrumental in the furnishing of Fort Nisqually's Research Library. Thanks to generous donors, the Foundation purchased a microfilm reader, computer, book shelves, filing cabinets and other media items necessary to facilitate the ongoing study of northwest history.
